Medieval Times Toronto - Fabulous Faith News
As my daughters and I approached we were
immediately seduced by the smell of roast chicken and garlic that perfumed the
grounds of Toronto’s Exhibition place.
We climbed the stairs and entered into the beautifully
decorated lobby filled with eager guests and collected our black and white crowns. On route to the stadium we passed through the
gift shop, ornamented in a medieval theme with archaic dark colours and high
ceilings.
As we entered the staffs were all dressed in costume and
busily serving beverages to the already packed house. We made our way down the stairs guided by our
wench and arrived at our table decorated with medieval place settings and took
our seats. The theatre style tournament
began as soon as our drinks were served and we were treated to show horses
performing tricks while enjoying our appetizers.
I was surprised that my generally picky-eaters loved food! The soup, lightly seasoned baked chicken and buttery corn on the cob are perfectly kid-friendly and the buttery tart and coffee at the end is exactly the kick us parents need to withstand the drive home with your excitement filled bunch.
The best part about eating at Medieval Times is the
experience and taking that “step back in time” so many stories can be shared
and lessons can be learned about how people ate were entertained before
technology. Stadium tournaments were the
TVs for kids back then and it’s always a great idea to take a break and see
some live action. Also super fun for my daughters was skipping the cutlery and
eating with your hands medieval style.
My family frequents exotic South Asian and African restaurants so we are
definitely a “hands-on” bunch.

Oster Versa Blender & Hand Blender - Fabulous Faith News
Fabulous Faith using the Oster Versa Blender |
At this year’s Toronto Food & Drink Market I had the
pleasure of using some new Oster Appliances.
Each day last weekend on the new Health & Wellness Stage, I did
cooking presentation’s that demonstrated how to prepare some of my Raw Food Diet
recipes.
The first recipe I prepared was a Tropical Superfood Smoothie using Sour sop, Avocados, Mangoes and Bananas. The Oster Versa blender featured a smoothie
button right on the front so there was no confusion just fill and push to start. Once in action, it blended the fruits to the
perfect consistency with what’s most easily described as some kind of smart
sensor technology.
The next recipe I prepared was a Raw Tomato Sauce; I used my
Oster Hand Blender right in the bowl as it allows you to carefully control the
texture of the sauce. After just a few
moments of blending, the tomatoes, basil and seasonings were reduced to a perfect
thick pink healthy sauce, ready to serve immediately.
The final and most challenging recipe was my raw cauliflower
soup which requires blending rough uncooked cauliflower to a creamy succulent thick
soup. I had my assistant rinse out the
blender while I was making the tomato sauce so I reached for that as right
beside the smoothie button was a button labelled soup. I placed the chopped cauliflower; spices and
a little coconut milk in the jar of the blender place the lid on top, pushed
the soup button and hoped for the best.
To my surprise, within seconds the cauliflower was reduced the perfect soup consistency and ready to serve, go Versa! My favorite feature is definitely that you can place the jar on the stand in any direction and there’s no weird, confusing locking system that you have to beat. Just place it on the stand push the button and within seconds, Food! Yay!

I would highly recommend the Oster Versa Blender and Hand
